Janice Holmes is the Founder and President of AASK. Mrs. Holmes attended Ohio University and earned a Bachelor's degree from Southern University, a Master’s degree in Education Administration from the University of Dayton, and has completed post graduate studies at The Catholic University of America in Educational Psychology. Mrs. Holmes has a proven record of success with more than 25 years as an entrepreneur and management consultant.


She provides has more than 15 years of experience as a peer grant review consultant for the Federal government and has served for more than 20 years as a management analyst, business market analyst and business development specialist. Mrs. Holmes formerly owned and operated a technical management consulting company that provided technical, management, and training services to the Federal government. She also is a former public school teacher, having taught economically and socially disadvantaged inner city high school youth.

An Act of Simple Kindness, Inc. (AASK) was incorporated as a charitable non-profit organization in April 2015 by Janice Holmes to honor the memory of her late father, Harry L. Palmer.  Her desire is that his love will continue through his family and this organization.


AASK will focus on providing life skills training, technology, Math & tutoring for children, and other support services designed to foster self-sufficiency for low-income children and families and those experiencing homelessness in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.


An Act of Kindness, Inc. (AASK) is certified by IRS as a 501 (c) (3) corporation - tax exempt status .

Mission:


The AASK mission is to assist individuals and families experiencing poverty and housing insecurity by providing training and other support services to help them achieve self-sufficiency.


Vision:

The AASK vision is to develop a successful nationally replicable program model to empower the vulnerable and eradicate poverty and housing insecurity.
